This is how you merge two airlines, Delta, and Northwest, with Post-It® notes. Anyone who knows me knows I live by these little semi-sticky pieces of paper, which are essentially just bits of data. They can be rearranged, reorganized, and allow for some very easy (and complex) operations to be performed.
I organize most of my Web projects with Post-It® notes, and make use of a great book called Rapid Problem Solving with Post-It® Notes.
Michael Moore uses them to do soft edits on his films. The producers and editors arrange things on Post-It® notes on a big bulletin board, visualize how that might look, re-arrange, then try again. By the time they are ready to actually cut the film, they have a great idea of what it will look like already.
