New WWII Documentary from George Lucas screening tonight

I’m a huge WWII buff and tonight I’ll be attending a screening of Double Victory, a new WWII documentary from George Lucas part of a new WWII film series at the Museum for the City of New York.

It’s a good time to bring up one of the most bizarre pieces of WWII history: Donald Duck as a Nazi. Disney suppressed this video for over 70 years, finally sneaking it in a on a DVD they released sometime in the late 90′s.

Not only is the film incredibly animated, scripted, and scored, I have no question in my mind that the psychedelic scenes are some of the most elaborate and creative ever put to film.

I also have a WWII bomber jacket that the pilot apparently had painted on the back after having seen or heard about the film. Scroll down to see some photos of it.
